HUGE IS BEAUTIFUL

From Giacomo Gazzola

And now, let’s discover the huge numbers of our Euromoot. It is also very important for us to consider how many people are working behind the scenes to make this experience unforgettable…

Today, we are talking about statistics. And, how can we do this if we don’t start with all the kilometres and time that we, communications team, have spent going around Bolsena? It seems easy to find a way in an apparently little town, but walking around these little lanes is sometimes hard stuff.

Our rangers and rovers, on the contrary, were very lucky and strong, and demonstrated great assurance finding the Red Point of their road. More than 300 participants arrived at this fundamental stay and created a great atmosphere among all those there, starting from the pitching of tents to the thoughts on the Gospel extracts that will be given to the Pope once completed.

But we must talk about numbers. Today, the 33 degrees that showed on the thermometer at 12 (perceived at least as 40!!!) were like a hammer hitting our heads. But thanks to the 9 volunteers, participants had 2 big wash-basins available to refresh themselves.

At night, the temperature dropped to 17 degrees. Scouts told me that it was a great night to sleep, but humidity ruined the middle hours from 2 to 3 a.m. Today, they will leave the campsite happily to prove that “there isn’t bad or good weather but only bad or good equipment”.
